Our Story
Born in a Classroom, Built for Every Classroom
LLMO.School began not in a boardroom, but in a fifth-grade classroom in East Oakland, where co-founder Dr. Elena Vasquez was conducting research on why students who understood fractions conceptually still failed standardized tests. What she found was not a knowledge gap — it was a feedback gap. Students were making the same mistakes repeatedly because no one had the time to catch them in the moment.
She partnered with Marcus Chen, who had spent years building adaptive learning infrastructure at Khan Academy, and together they asked a provocative question: what if every student had access to a tutor who never got tired, never got frustrated, and always knew exactly where the student's understanding broke down?
Three years of research, two university partnerships, and one relentless belief in the potential of every child later — LLMO.School was born. Today, our AI tutor Aria works alongside teachers in over 1,200 schools, not to replace human connection, but to make it possible at scale.
"The best teachers I've ever seen don't just explain things — they notice the exact moment a student gets confused and respond to that specific confusion. That's what we built Aria to do."

What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Student First, Always
Every decision — from model selection to UI design — is evaluated through a single lens: does this help the student learn better? Commercial considerations never override pedagogical integrity.
Transparent AI
We believe educators and parents have the right to understand how AI influences learning. Our systems surface their reasoning, flag uncertainty, and never pretend to know more than they do.
Equity at Scale
A world-class tutor should not be a privilege of the wealthy. LLMO is designed from the ground up to serve students in under-resourced schools with the same quality of personalization as elite institutions.
Teachers as Partners
AI does not replace teachers — it amplifies them. We build tools that give educators superpowers: instant insight into every student's thinking, freeing them to do what only humans can do.
